On Monday 11th November, Senior Constable Jaclyn Mahood from the Forrest Hill police station visited our Year 5 and 6 students to discuss online safety. The session highlighted how predators can use seemingly innocent information to gain personal details for criminal purposes.
On Wednesday 11th September, the Preps had their second instalment of an incursion led by Vermont South Fire Brigade. They eagerly practiced vital fire safety skills such as ‘Stop, Drop, Cover, and Roll’ and learned the importance of calling ‘Triple Zero’ in emergencies.
Today’s fundraiser and dress-up day brought vibrant energy and excitement to our school as students celebrated Halloween, Diwali, and the Melbourne Cup! The school was filled with an amazing array of costumes, colours, and creativity, showcasing our students’ festive spirit and cultural pride.
On Tuesday, 29th October, our Prep, Year 1, and Year 2 students were delighted to meet Tony Armstrong, a proud Gamilaroi man and multi-talented writer, as he shared his newly released children’s book, George the Wizard.
On Thursday 24th October, our Year Six Leaders embarked on their penultimate Leadership Day for the year. They spent the day at Glen Waverley Secondary College, where they had the chance to ask questions about transitioning to high school during a Q&A panel with current GWSC students and teachers.
Our Wellbeing Wagon initiative, led by the Year Twos, continues to roll into action! On Monday 21st October, the wagon made its way to the ELC, this time with the Preps onboard. This exciting program offers our Year Twos a chance to lead by example through the power of play.
Our Year 3 students recently enjoyed an enriching excursion to the Melbourne Museum, where they had the opportunity to explore key themes related to our Term 3 Inquiry question: "How does Australia continue to change?"
Congratulations to our 2024 Term Three Principal Learning Award recipients who were presented with their award certificate at a special end of term whole school assembly on Friday 20th September.
On Monday, 16th November, our excited Level Two students had the incredible opportunity to visit the iconic MCG! This excursion allowed students to expand their understanding of the Inquiry topic, 'What do places mean to us?'.
Saturday, 14th of September marked the 2024 Victorian State Schools Spectacular, a massive annual event that our school has been proudly contributing to for many years.
