On Thursday 1st June, GWPS celebrated Education Week by hosting an Open Morning. The theme for Education Week is “Active Learners, Move, Make, Motivate.” celebrating the many ways students learn, through physical activity, hands on learning and student voice.
On Friday 19th May, the Preps had their first instalment of an incursion led by Vermont South Fire Brigade. The focus of this 2 part incursion is to educate our Prep students on Fire Safety with encouragement for them to pass their learning onto their families.
On Wednesday 31st May, Year 6 students went on an excursion to Scienceworks. Their focus was this terms Inquiry question 'What is our place in the universe'.
This term, we are fortunate enough to have received funding to facilitate a gymnastics program run by TriSkills Australia.
On Wednesday 24th May, Glen Waverley Primary School took part in the National Simultaneous Storytime where all the children at our school, read the Storybook “The Speedy Sloth" simultaneously at 11.30am with all other students around the nation.
On Friday 12th May, GWPS had 47 participants represent our school at the SDSSA Cross Country event held at Jells Park.
On May 16th, our dynamic group of Mass Dancers from Level Five and Six took part in their second intense Local Hub rehearsal at Mont Albert Primary School. We
On Tuesday 2nd May, the Year 2s attended Ceres for a day of activities ‘Towards Zero Waste’. The learners started off the day with a long bus ride. At CERES we learnt a dance to help us remember the 6Rs; rethink, refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle and rot.
To support our Term Two Inquiry learning, Level One learners embarked on an adventure to Chesterfield Farm on Tuesday 9th May.
On Thursday 11th May, the level 3 students embarked on a journey into Australia’s past present and future.

On Monday, April 3rd, our amazing Mass Choir Ensemble from Level Three and Four represented the GWPS community with pride at Karoo Primary School.
