Book Week
This week at GWPS, we've been celebrating Book Week with the enchanting theme, 'Reading is Magic.' On Monday, our school was filled with excitement as students and even some teachers came dressed as their favorite book characters.
On Friday August 16, the Year 1s visited Willum Warrain Aboriginal Association. Learners were educated about the many traditions and cultures of the tribes, their connection to land, their history and the ways we can take care of country.
On Tuesday, 13th August, our Prep C and D students embarked on an exciting adventure to South Yarra’s historic Como House, connecting with our inquiry focus on sharing the past, present, and future.
On Friday, August 9th, the Level Five and Six Mass Dance Ensemble involved in the 2024 Victorian State School Spectacular had an exhilarating day of rehearsal at Maroondah Nets in Heathmont.

On Wednesday, 31 July, the Monash City Council team visited our school and generously brought 50 plants for our Indigenous garden. This event was particularly special for Sophie and Eliana from 5B, who were the inspiration behind this project.
On Wednesday 24th of July, the Grade 6 students went to Camp ADANAC in Yarra Junction for three days. We had many unique activities that we enjoyed such as Flying Fox, Canoeing and Archery.
On Monday 22nd July, 33 girls from Level 6 traveled to Mt. View Primary School to participate in a soccer round robin.
Congratulations to our 2024 Term Two Principal Learning Award recipients who were presented with their award certificate at a special end of term whole school assembly on Friday 28th June.
On Wednesday 19th June, we went on an excursion to the Royal Botanical Gardens to deepen our understanding of our Inquiry unit “How might we contribute to the thriving of flora and fauna?”.
On Monday, June 3rd, and Tuesday, June 4th, our Year 3 students went on an excursion to Healesville Sanctuary. It was a thrilling adventure as they delved into the vibrant world of Australian wildlife.
