On Tuesday 25th May, GWPS celebrated Education Week by hosting an Open Morning and Open Evening. This year’s theme celebrated the strong connection between our school community, engaging with our learners, GWPS parents and families whilst also celebrating the learning and success of our students.
On Wednesday 19th May, Glen Waverley Primary School took part in the National Simultaneous Storytime where all the children at our school, in 100’s of schools across the nation and an astronaut in space, read the Storybook “Give Me Some Space” simultaneously at 10:40am.
Over the course of Term Two, 16 GWPS dancers from Level 5/6 have taken part in a series of electrifying and energetic rehearsals, both online and on excursions at Laburnum Primary school.
Congratulations to our 2021 Junior School Council and Year 6 Peer Mediators who were presented with their leadership badges at assembly on Monday 15th March 2021.
On Thursday 11th March close to 400 students and their teachers attended our annual Glen Waverley Primary School Intra-School Athletics Day at Bill Stewart Athletics Reserve. The students participated in a number of events such as high jump, shot put, discus, long jump and triple jump.
On Tuesday 2nd March 2021, our Year 5 learners headed off for Camp to Beechworth, and what an amazing time they all had! Our learner’s have grown in their independence, resilience, emotional intelligence and historical understandings of this captivating region.
On Thursday 25th February 2021 we held our Welcome BBQ for all our Prep families. Congratulations to the Prep Team and thank you to everyone who assisted with what was a fabulous school community event where families got to know us, one another and the children continued to cement their friendships.
Congratulations to our 2021 Term One Principal Learning Award recipients who were presented with their award certificate at a special whole school assembly on Monday 29th March.
On Friday the 12th February we celebrated Chinese/Lunar New Year. As a culturally diverse school we acknowledged this occasion by inviting all students who were celebrating to wear traditional cultural dress on this day.
On Tuesday 23rd March 2021, we celebrated our annual Harmony Day celebration. A day that is designed to build awareness of global diversity, acceptance and peace.
On Monday 1st February, our 2021 Preps commenced their first day of school.
