It was eye-opening to learn how easily someone can build a profile from the ‘unintended’ information shared online, such as what appears in the background of photos and videos on social media. Here are some key takeaways from our students:
Devhan: “I enjoyed the police incursion. I learned that there are special police officers who play games to catch scammers. I also learned how to be safer online, like not talking to strangers and only playing with friends.”
Izzy: “During the police incursion, we learned that cyber safety is much more important than we might think. The person behind the screen could be anyone from anywhere in the world. We should never believe who they say they are unless they are our friend in real life.”
Vinudi: “I learned that cyber safety is very important. You need to think twice about what you do online because it impacts your safety and wellbeing. You shouldn’t share too much private information online because some people intentionally target young children.”
Alyssa: “I found it interesting how police go undercover to keep children safe from online scammers.”
Ziqi: “Watch out for people trying to get your personal information to find out where you live or go to school.”
Liam: “What stood out to me was when Officer Jacqueline said, ‘Think before you click’.”
Ayaan: “We learned about cyber safety and how to prevent anyone from scamming us on digital technology.”
Maahi: “I learned how to be cyber safe by not sharing my personal details. I will make a fake account rather than use my real name and age. I think this was an informative incursion to help us in the future.”
