Prep Fire Incursion
On Wednesday 11th September, the Preps had their second instalment of an incursion led by Vermont South Fire Brigade. They eagerly practiced vital fire safety skills such as ‘Stop, Drop, Cover, and Roll’ and learned the importance of calling ‘Triple Zero’ in emergencies.
The session also included a review of their safe meeting place, making the learning both practical and relevant.
The highlight of the visit was an exciting tour of the fire truck, where the students had the chance to squirt the hose, turning their fire safety knowledge into an unforgettable, hands-on experience.
Here’s what some of our enthusiastic Preps had to say:
Charlotte: "I liked squirting the hose, and I helped the firefighters hold the sign."
Jiyaan: "I was so happy, and I couldn’t believe how many hoses they had on their truck—they were so nice."
Willow: "If someone is on fire, you need to STOP, DROP, COVER, and ROLL!"
Sajunthan: "If there is a fire or emergency, call 000 and go to a safe place."
