Parents/Guardians of Glen Waverley Primary may expect to receive a phone call from Tina from time-to-time. Tina may notify Parents/Guardians of an illness or noteworthy injury that has occurred. Additionally she will provide detailed written communication of the student’s illness or injury. Rest assured, Tina will competently identify any medical and traumatic emergencies that may our during school hours.

Tina’s interests also lie in health promotion. Tina provides current and relevant health information in the Glen Waverley Primary School newsletter, aiming to highlight health issues to improve the health and wellbeing of Glen Waverley Primary School community.

For the Parents/Guardians of children with anaphylaxis, allergies, asthma, diabetes, or epilepsy. You are required to provide an action plan for your child completed by your Doctor. Action plans detail the instructions for school staff to follow in the event of a medical emergency. Action plans help us to provide a safe environment for your child and ensure their health and wellbeing during school hours. Moreover, it is an Education Department directive that schools are provided with new medical action plan annually.

Medical action plan templates are available via the links below and at the school office. Once completed by your doctor, please return to the school office. Wherever possible, it is encouraged that medication is administered outside of school hours. If your child has a medical condition that requires a prescription medication to be administered during school hours, you must complete a Medication Authority form. All medication must be given to the school office at the commencement of the day, in its original packaging. No medication (apart from Ventolin) is to be kept in school bags or the classroom.
