Our Science Program is held each Monday at lunch time and after school in our Science Shed. In our science sessions we cover a range of topics, all with a practical hands on experiment to consolidate learning. From freezing point depression and making your own ice cream by hand, to the physics of light through making a lens, our science sessions are varied and engaging to all students.
For curious minds only, the science program is a way to extend young people outside of the classroom. Our passionate coaches will engage and enthuse students with a range of exciting science based lessons. The hands-on approach to learning will ensure a memorable experience.
Each session includes key vocabulary linked to curriculum elements and specific theory to scaffold the learning. The practical experiments allow students to explore the theory and test their hypothesis, covering safe practices at all times.
The topics covered in physics and chemistry sessions include:
- Motion
- Friction
- Light
- Shadow
- Energy
- Acids and Bases
- Polymers
- Chemical Reactions
- Fluorescence
