As such the Learning Intention was to build our understanding of an excellent performer. When we arrived in the performing arts room, we were greeted by two enthusiastic performers. They immediately took us all on a journey through three familiar stories, The Gingerbread Man, Three Little Pigs and Mulga Bill’s Bicycle. The expressive acting helped us to understand how to engage an audience in a story. Students participated as an audience member through group chants and individually as an actor on stage playing a character. We will continue to build on what we have learnt in this incursion within our literacy, when we explore fluent and expressive reading.
