On Friday the 10th of November, Year 2 Glen Waverley students experienced Forces at Play with an immersive excursion to Scienceworks. Students participated in the Forces during Play presentation where they explored the forces of push, pull and gravity demonstrated with different toys.
They further found how they could apply magnetic forces, gravitational pull on different planets in the solar system and the forces applied by their own body’s movements in the exhibition spaces throughout Scienceworks.

Several student’s wanted to share their thoughts about their learning at Scienceworks:
Shlok 2A- It was fun to explore the different sections of Scienceworks and sitting next to your friend on the bus.
Pavika 2A- I had the most fun because I got to push a rocket in the Forces show. It went fast but it missed the hoop.
Ethan 2E -I learned about forces. Like when air pushes an object the object will go further and how sound travels through air by pushing the particles.
Aneel 2E- I learned that when a ball bunches back up gravity pushes it down then it bounces off the floor and back up again. Then gravity pushes it down again.
Yuvein 2E- At the toy show the man showed us a bunch of toys that all used forced. One of the toys was a rocket launcher that pushed air to launch it across the room.
Reyansh 2E- I observed fans pushing little bean bag beans up into the air and then gravity pushed it back down. I also think that there is friction between each little thing that makes it launch up into the air.
Saheli 2D- You can learn a lot of things at Scienceworks, such as the Toys and Forces show we joined today.
Tarini 2D- We played the pulling game. When you pull it, it shows how much strength you have.
Tulara 2D- I have learnt that you can make a lot of toys at home!
