Here’s what our junior students had to say:
Tiana - “I learned that it is important to be safe online because there could be tricky people to trick you. You have to ask the adult before you go on the iPad.”
Sajunthan – “When we encountered ‘Press to win a prize’, we need to say ‘STOP’. S stands for Silent, T for Tell an adult, O for Out, and P for Play something else.”
Sajunthan – “I need to look out for tricky people, strangers and unkind people.”
Crystabel – “If a stranger or someone you don’t know calls you, don’t bother until it’s gone. S stand for silent, T stand for tell an adult, O stand for Out, P stand for play another game.”
Meanwhile, our Year 5 students tackled more complex topics in the Digital Defenders session. They examined the laws and responsibilities around online behaviour, discussed the impact of oversharing personal information and explored the differences between being an upstander versus a bystander in cyberbullying scenarios. These conversations deepened their understanding of digital privacy, respect, and seeking help when needed.
