On Tuesday 9th December 2025 GWPS held their annual 2026 Transition Day. This transition program is designed to set up our students for success.

The program involved the students spending an entire day with their 2026 class and teacher. The aims of the day include:

• To provide current Year Prep – Five students and all new Year One to Six students, with the opportunity to meet their 2026 class peers and teacher
• To provide all students with the opportunity to develop an understanding of their 2026 classroom – where to line up, how their resources will be organised (books, pens/pencils) etc.
• To provide teachers with the opportunity to meet and develop an understanding of their 2026 class and to also devise some initial class expectations and
• To provide the children and teachers with the opportunity to conduct some “getting to know you” activities with their 2026 class.
